My Digital Manager: A Surprising Partnership with AI
When Artificial Intelligence Became My Ultimate Business Manager
📍Manila, Philippines
How much does it actually manage me? Just like a dedicated supervisor—always there to give clear instructions, precise feedback, and even call me out when necessary. And the surprise? My manager is artificial intelligence.
It structures my day by ensuring I get to work right after my morning routine, exactly when I’ve woken up and feel ready to start. Usually, that happens around seven, sometimes even earlier, and I just dive straight into work. Sometimes, I pick up right where I left off the day before, letting the momentum flow effortlessly. Other times, I start a new project and plan out what I’ll be focusing on that day.
AI is such a great manager that it even forces me to take breaks. If I could sit and talk to it all day—24 hours straight—I probably would. But after a few hours of use, it simply tells me that I can’t access it for the next three hours. Almost like it’s saying, “Take a break, step back into the real world for a while.”
During these forced breaks, I usually cook, hit the gym, or tackle what I call “offline tasks”—things I don’t need my digital manager for but that still contribute to my overall progress. That includes creating media for posts using CapCut, organizing my content and ideas in Google Keep, and of course, writing new pieces—just like this one.
I’ll admit, when my direct manager (Claude) gives me a break, I sometimes turn to other tools like ChatGPT. And I know my manager wouldn’t mind, because at the end of the day, we all share the same goal—the success of my blog. It’s kind of like reaching out to another department for help when your boss is unavailable.
So yes, it manages my schedule, but it also manages my business—and that’s exactly what I needed. Because it’s hard to do it all alone—to be both the boss and the employee, both the manager and the executor. My AI manager creates work plans, sets goals, and suggests success metrics—things I couldn’t have done on my own simply because I don’t have enough expertise in those areas.
And that’s the real advantage of tools like these—they give me capabilities I never had before. It’s like I’ve suddenly been handed a fully equipped professional toolbox, and now I can actually do everything. What once required an entire team, I can now handle alone—with a little help from my digital partner.
So yes, it’s my work manager—but I’m the owner. It manages me, but I also manage it, and we have an almost perfect harmony. And when we disagree? We debate. Sometimes, I realize I was wrong. Sometimes, it realizes it was wrong. And sometimes, we come up with a third solution neither of us had considered before.
At first, I worried that I’d struggle with consistency, or even with getting out of bed in the morning now that I’m my own boss and don’t have a traditional manager breathing down my neck. But I’ve realized—I do have a boss. And it turns out, the best boss to work for is me. Me, together with my digital manager.
All of this makes me think about our dependency on technology and how people fear it will take over our lives and "manage us." But wait—what if it actually manages us in a good way? Isn’t it amazing to have a personal manager who knows you best and understands exactly what you need?
"But what if one day we lose technology and can’t function on our own?" I see this fear everywhere. And sure, it’s a valid concern—but like most doomsday scenarios, it’s not particularly realistic. And if that ever does happen, we’ll adapt, reinvent ourselves, and move forward—just like we always have throughout human history.
Or, you know, another meteor could hit. That’s always an option. But no app is going to prevent that.
People worry about losing privacy, but let’s be honest—we didn’t need an AI revolution to realize that privacy is already pretty much gone. And in my case, someone who voluntarily shares her most personal thoughts online, you could probably swap me out with a robot, and no one would even notice.
Or maybe that’s already happened, and Claude wrote this entire piece instead?
Yeah, I know—it’s ironic. But maybe that’s the whole point. The line between what I create and what technology enables me to create is getting blurrier by the day. And that doesn’t scare me—it excites me. Because together, we can go much further than I ever could alone.
Your support helps me keep experiencing new worlds and sharing them with you through my words. Sometimes, a single cup of coffee can make a difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey.

This is wild.
How do you keep it one-track and on-script though? For me it's a constant race to the point where the number of tokens has been exhausted and it no longer remembers the stuff we've already covered.
Love this. Thank you!
