The Nomadic Journey
Before You Dive Into The Stories, Here Is Some Behind-The-Scenes Look:
I guess I’m a little different—or just completely crazy—because while others chase comfort, stability, and a home of their own, I see those things as warning signs. I’ve realized that I’m addicted to new beginnings and that my curiosity about the world, people, and cultures is endless. The moment I get too comfortable in one place—that’s my sign that it’s time to move on.
My nomadic journey started when I realized this isn’t a trip. How can you call it a trip when it completely reshapes your worldview? How can you use the same word that describes a short walk in the park to capture the depth of diving into a foreign culture?
When I say journey, I mean an adventure that reshapes the soul. I’m talking about those moments when I stand before a landscape I’ve never seen before and feel something inside me shift forever. This isn’t just semantics. The words we choose shape how we experience the world.
Curiosity is the fuel that drives my endless journey. It’s not just about seeing new places—it’s about understanding them. I want to know why people live the way they do. The more I asked deeper questions, the more the world expanded before me. And this curiosity didn’t stop with travel—it seeped into other areas of my life, making me realize how small my I know is, and how vast my yet to discover truly is.
Even as a child, something inside me knew I needed to get out, to see, to experience, to break beyond familiar borders. Letting go of my comfort zone turned out to be far easier than I imagined. Not fearing the unknown—whether it was talking to strangers in a language I didn’t understand or navigating unfamiliar streets—helped me embrace uncertainty as a friend. And every one of those moments made me stronger. This journey has taught me that beyond my comfort zone lies not just the external world, but also parts of myself I have yet to meet.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is to let go of control. I stopped over-planning and being disappointed when things didn’t go as expected. I found that the most spontaneous moments—like an unplanned visit to a Māori village in New Zealand or a conversation with a stranger on a ferry to Sydney—became some of my most cherished memories.
All my life, I’ve felt that the world is too big to stay in one place. And through my travels, I’ve come to understand something deeper—home isn’t a physical location. It’s always within me, in the experiences I’ve gathered, the people I’ve met, the flavors I’ve tasted, and the connections I’ve built. With this realization, I feel at home wherever I go.
In this category I’ll share my real journey—not just the beautiful photos and perfect moments, but also what happens behind the scenes, the hard-earned lessons, and the experiences that changed me. Because at the end of the day, I remind myself that the essence of travel is not just to see new places—but to see with new eyes.
