The Practical Journey
Before You Dive Into The Stories, Here Is Some Behind-The-Scenes Look:
On my journey, I discovered that technology is reshaping the way I experience the world through my smart glasses, which have become almost an extension of myself. They capture the world from my perspective, allowing me to share my experiences exactly as I see them.
I’ve realized that technology is much more than just a tool. It’s a travel companion- sometimes challenging, sometimes frustrating, but always fascinating. I’ve found myself surrounded by a whole "digital family"- ChatGPT, Claude -each with its own personality and unique capabilities. They don’t just help me edit; they push me to think differently, ask new questions, and see perspectives I hadn’t considered before.
I've also dived into the world of coding and automation, wrestling with errors, failing, and trying again-until that sweet moment of victory when the code finally works. It hit me that every line of code is like a worker on my production line, all coming together to build a system that works for me.
One of the biggest challenges in my journey was building my website. After three attempts, disappearing vendors, and endless frustrations, I realized that sometimes the universe redirects us to places we never planned. Maybe all those "no’s" were just a push to take matters into my own hands, trust myself instead of relying on others, and that’s exactly what I did.
You'll also find plenty of money talk here. This isn’t a finance blog, but I believe in sharing real-life costs and what life looks like in different places, both in words and numbers. And if you’re wondering how I fund this journey, the answer is simple: I saved for years as a bartender. I’m not rich; I just choose experiences over cars or expensive clothes. The truth is, I have a strong work ethic, and I know that making a living requires effort - there’s no secret hack. Right now, I’m traveling in Southeast Asia because the cost of living is low, and my savings go a long way.
The challenge of living on the move has led me to explore minimalism - not just as a lifestyle, but as a mindset. How much do we really need to be happy? In a world where time is the most valuable resource, I’ve learned to manage it wisely. Technology, when used effectively, frees up time for real life.
At first, I feared that using technological tools, especially AI, would take away from the authenticity I hold so dear. Are my words still "mine" if I have help editing them? The answer, I realized, is an undeniable yes. The experiences, thoughts, and emotions are entirely mine. Technology simply helps refine the raw diamond of my writing - but the diamond itself? That’s 100% me.
Here, I’ll share my practical steps in the digital world - from sweet moments of success to the bitter frustrations of failure. I’ll talk about my complex relationship with AI and the challenges of nomadic life in a tech-driven era. You won’t find dry tutorials here - just personal stories from someone who’s learning, making mistakes, trying again, and sometimes even succeeding.
Here, you’ll find short stories about the technological tools that enable my journey as part of Journey Beyond Borders 🌎 (Wednesday).
