The Professional Journey
Before You Dive Into The Stories, Here Is Some Behind-The-Scenes Look:
When people ask me, "What do you do for a living?" my answer is far more complex than they expect. A decade behind the bar in Tel Aviv taught me everything I know about life—late-night conversations with strangers, cocktails that tell stories, and customers who became friends. In the end, that’s what pushed me to set out on this journey—when I suddenly realized that what I had been searching for all along had been right under my nose.
Bars are a universal language, one I speak fluently. The moment I step behind the bar, I’m not just making drinks—I’m listening to stories, forming connections, becoming part of people’s lives in ways I never expected. When I worked at a bar in Townsville, Australia, I never imagined that I’d find love there.
In Melbourne, I worked as a barista and discovered the city through what many call the best coffee in the world. I met baristas who treated coffee as something more essential than air. Regular customers became my second family. At first, it was just a simple "Hey, the usual?" and within weeks, I knew everything about them. But what truly moved me was realizing that I wasn’t invisible to them, either.
And yet, between the espresso steam and the clinking cocktail glasses, the dream of digital nomadism was always there, waiting patiently for me to notice. It was like a puzzle where the last missing piece suddenly appeared—writing.
Since setting out on this journey and starting to write, I’ve realized that the answer has been right in front of me the whole time. Once again, just like with hospitality, I found my calling in a place I wasn’t consciously searching for. It was as if my soul had always known what it wanted, and I just needed to reach the right moment in life to see it clearly. That was when I knew—it was time to dive into the deep end and turn this long-standing dream into reality.
Every morning when I wake up, I immediately dive into my laptop. Most of my day is spent writing, making this dream come true, like a true addict. It doesn’t matter if I’m in the middle of an outing or cooking in the kitchen; there are moments when I just have to drop everything and write down a thought before it disappears.
At first, I wrote just to stay connected with the people closest to me, but over time, I realized that writing is so much more. It’s like a direct gateway to my subconscious, allowing it to take the lead and express itself freely. Through words, I undergo deep internal processes and uncover parts of myself I never knew existed. Something I never dared to do for 29 years—simply because I had never asked myself, "What do you truly want?"
I believe that the messy moments, the fears, and the challenges are far more important to share than the perfect picture. I’ve lost trust in what I see on social media, and through my writing, I try to preserve the authenticity that remains in our digital world. Because the real journey is far from perfect—and that’s exactly why I love it.
After two and a half years of traveling, I made the scariest decision of all—leaving bartending behind to become a full-time blogger, trusting the universe, but most of all, trusting myself. The road hasn’t been easy. Every day comes with new challenges—navigating everything on my own, managing a website, publishing content, and marketing myself. But I finally feel like I’ve found the career path that lets me be fully me.
Writing has taught me that I can turn my dreams into reality, and that may be the most valuable gift it has given me. In Journey Through My Career, I share my path—from long shifts behind the bar, to early mornings as a barista, to a life of content creation and remote work. Here, you’ll find the struggles, the successes, the failures, and the lessons I’ve gathered along the way toward making my digital nomad dream come true. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll find a little inspiration for your own career journey, too.
