I like to believe that people subscribe to my writing because they connect with my words, not with how I look. That’s one of the reasons I appreciate Substack so much — it’s one of the few platforms where content still comes before appearance.
Your joke made me pause, though. Even with the smiley note at the end, commenting on looks (mine or anyone’s) feels out of place in a space meant for words, stories, and ideas. Just a gentle nudge to keep the focus where it matters.

Truth is I had fun too, I was just relaxing, having a good time under the sun, and found company in an unexpected place.
